Mushroom Tunnel & Southern Highlands Tour

About this experience
Hidden away in the heart of the Southern Highlands lies Hidden Gem, a commercial exotic mushroom farm located inside a disused Victorian-era railway tunnel built in 1866. Discover the fascinating Victorian railway and World War II history of the site, and its significance to the region. Family-friendly and wheelchair accessible, the tunnel is a remarkable example of historic railway architecture and engineering ingenuity. Expert mycologist farmers Leonie and Peter will guide you through the world of fungi, from mushroom biology to their nutritional and medicinal benefits. They will also share practical preparation tips to help you get the most out of a gourmet mushroom experience. Guests will have the opportunity to pick their own mushrooms and take home a variety of fresh produce. After the 1 hour mushroom tour, we will continue to Bowral for lunch.

One of the best tours, reasonably priced and very organised. We had Barry as the driver for the South Highlands day trip, smooth trip and plenty of time for us to explore the towns. Would highly recommend Ozia! 👍🏻😊

I had a great experience visiting Berrima and Bowral yesterday. It was interesting to tour the mushroom tunnel, learn about the history and be able to pick mushrooms (delicious) Eric and the driver (sorry forgot his name ) took good care of us. We had enough time to look around Berrima and Bowral and enjoy coffee/lunch Good day out. My suggestion perhaps visit later in the year to enjoy the autumn colours 😊
